Our business operations are divided into the Grow&Care, Energy and New Businesses divisions. The Supply Chain Management function used by all three business divisions manages peat production, logistics services and procurement, among other things, in many countries. The Group services shared by all business operations are managed by the Group Service function.
Our Grow&Care division is Europe’s leading producer of home gardening and professional growing media. Our product selection also includes products targeted at home gardeners and landscapers. Our other sectors are recycling and composting as well as bedding peat.
Our target is to provide horticultural solutions that support sustainable development and conserve fresh water, catering to the growing global trend of clean local food and the construction of attractive and pleasant living environments.
Our main markets are in the Nordic countries and the Netherlands, but our products are available globally in more than 100 countries. Starting from the beginning of 2019, we are operating under the name of Kekkilä-BVB Oy.
Our New Businesses division uses its in-house product development activities to create new products and innovations based on refining peat and other natural materials into air and water purification products, for instance.
Novactor is a forerunner in the growing activated carbon market. The first production facility will be completed in 2021 in Ilomantsi, eastern Finland.
Activated carbon is used in many air and water purification applications. Activated carbon is also needed in industrial processes and food production to adsorb chemicals, metals and odours. The most familiar everyday applications include car cabin air filters, extractor hoods, water filters and vacuum cleaners.
Vapo Group’s Sustainability Report 2020 has been published – the Group’s carbon dioxide emissions decreased by nearly 20% in one year
